You might find these links helpful in creating new pages or helping with the above tasks: How to edit a page, How to write a great article, Naming conventions, Manual of Style. You should read our policies at some point too.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian!

Again, welcome! - Meelar 23:39, 7 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Actually, I signed up in late October, so the welcome is a bit late, it seems ;). Although, the changing who is credited with an edit thing is helpful... Thanks! - Bulbaboy 23:43, 7 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Thank you for your comments about my correction to the Pokémon page. First of all, forgive any grammar or spelling mistakes that may be, English is not my mother tongue.

I could, in fact, have put the correction as a <!-- comment -->, so it could only be seen by editors, but I don't think that page is edited everyday, so it would have been very unlikely that someone even noticed that there was a change. I could've put a note on the talk page, but I think it's even worse; check out Talk:Spanish language to see what I mean... my posts have been there for a long time, and haven't been answered yet. I should have fixed it myself, that's right, and I think I have no reason for not having done that. I can only say I got lazy, but of course that shouldn't have happened.

And one last thing: I should have logged in, so that your comments didn't go to an anonymous talk page, but I forgot to do that. This time, I didn't forget, and I won't forget to put my signature.

Hope to hear from you again.

Hi there. I'm not sure why you posted anything to User:Jesus is Lord's talk page. He only contributed for a few days, back in September 2003. I doubt he still watches that page. Isomorphic 05:37, 15 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Oh, whoops. Didn't notice that... Oh, well. - Bulbaboy 05:46, 15 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn´t notice it and deleted it by mistake (thinking it was a vandalism, since it was in the Recents Vandalisms Page. Much sorry, I´ll take more care next time! -- Dobrowsky

Re: Staryu and Starmie

[edit]

While they're awful as far as stubs go, they seem to be valid subjects (Pokemons). Using "what links here" reveals two inbound links to both articles, and there's just barely enough info in them to earn them stub status (apparently "attack/special ability" data are important to Pokemon fans).

I'm certainly not a fan of the franchise and have zero knowledge of the subjects; if you know the text to be incorrect or believe we should not have articles on Pokemons (as we currently do, rightly or wrongly), by all means list them for deletion. Cheers, -- Hadal 07:46, 22 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Eek. For what it's worth, I apologise for my ignorance of all things Pokemon and for foiling your commendable attempt at weeding out nonsense. In my defence, you could have been more descriptive as to why the articles should be deleted; just saying "no useful content" isn't entirely helpful for such a specialized topic, as for all I knew you could have been just as woefully clueless as I. For potentially confusing cases such as this, it might also be best to list it on the Wikipedia:Speedy deletions page with a short summary of why you know it's no loss if deleted.
Anyway, thanks for your efforts; it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, regardless of the circumstances. :) -- Hadal 08:32, 22 Mar 2004 (UTC)

I saw what you did on the page missingno.. Thank you for that. --Fibonacci 00:02, 29 Mar 2004 (UTC)

A user named Ivyboy

[edit]

In the Wikibooks Pokemon project, there is a user named Ivyboy who put up some copywrited text from the web. I have a fealing that his choise of name has something to do with your name.

For your information. User142 16:02, 18 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Joy, I have my own personal troll :-/. He even blanked the two copyvio notices (and worse... sounds like he might've gotten it from GameFAQs...). Well, thanks for the heads-up, and I can assure you it's not me. Looks like it's good I wanted to check something today... (why'd he pick me, though? Hadn't I, y'know, stopped editing for a while?) - Bulbaboy 20:48, 19 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I know which walkthrough he got it from. It comes from a walkthrough which is legal on "Gamefaqs.com,Ign.com, SA2BSB.com, and Gamespot.com". I looked for a similar page using Google, and this one fits quite well. (I even put a link to one of the url's - the Ign.com one.) You may notice the signature on the talk page is mine.
By the way, the reason you didn't see a {{VfD}} tag on his walkthrough is that he deleted the one which KelvSYC put up. He tried deleting it once, but I restored it 16 minutes later. The second time he masked it with several edits and did it when I wasn't around to fix it, so it stayed up for 14 hours.

Wikibooks User:Bulbaboy gove moved to User:Ivyboy. (so it looks like he is you and you are he) I put the user page back. While I'm fairly sure that these are two distinct users, I must admit that I've been made to wonder. It has also crossed my mind that Ivyboy is "Gumba gumba", the last jerk I saw moving user pages around. (why is that even possible?) AlbertCahalan 19:03, 22 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, he appears to be trolling at this point - and is most definately not me... Besides, if I wanted to post copyrighted stuff under a different username, why would I pick something so similar to my real one? Thanks for moving my userpage back, btw. And yeah, it would make sense if moving user pages required permission from the person who's having their page redirected. - Bulbaboy 04:18, 23 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ivyboy just moved your page over to his again, adding at the bottom:

By the way, I have evolved. I didn't get around to updating this on Wikipedia,
          but soon I will.

If he really means this, maybe you should take steps to prevent this (like taking that name yourself, before he gets around to it).

I've reverted his last set of destructive changes. User142 15:14, 23 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Already registered by User:Frazzydee, and I've proactively taken Venuboy as well. Thanks for the heads up, btw. - Bulbaboy 20:52, 23 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Nincada is on vote for deletion

[edit]

The Nincada article is on vote for deletion. Since you seem to be in favor of the Pokémon articles, maybe you should put in a vote in favor of it. User142 15:00, 25 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

A user named Dittoboy

[edit]

A user named Dittoboy on Wikipedia is begging Frazzydee to block him off, and is claiming to be you. In order to try to convince Frazzydee to do so, he blanked someone else's talk page (I guess he read what Frazzydee told you at Wikibooks - and decided to blank a different talk page.) User142 16:53, 29 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

*sigh* I guess I should leave a note on my userpage that they're not me... - Bulbaboy 20:19, 30 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I've protected both user pages (and user talk pages) from moves - this should prevent any of this strange nonsense in the future. – ugen64 23:51, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
This guy is also spamming Wikicities too. He's been banned by me for a year on The Film Guide wikicity. --Spe88 19:02, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
